Eric Varton

Eric Varton is Vice President of Engineering at Yazaki North America.  Located at the campus of the Yazaki North American regional headquarters in Canton, Michigan, Eric is responsible for leading engineers in the development of electrical distribution system (EDS) products and technologies addressing the changing needs of original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and Tier 1 suppliers. The current areas of innovation focus for Yazaki’s engineering teams are high voltage and low voltage power electronics and connectivity components that support advanced vehicle electrification and in-vehicle data networks.

Varton has held multiple product development roles in EDS engineering, program management, advanced product planning, and advanced development engineering at Yazaki North America in the 10 years since joining Yazaki. In addition, he has more than 2 decades of experience working for North American automotive OEMs in product development, electrical systems engineering, project management, and quality improvement roles.

Varton holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and currently resides in Canton, Michigan, with his wife and daughter.
